Devotional Day 21: Build

Matthew 7:1-5 Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. ² For with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. ³ Why do you see the speck in your neighbor's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? ⁴ Or how can you say to your neighbor, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' while the log is in your own eye? ⁵ You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor's eye.

 

God put us here to help build His Kingdom, not to sit in judgment of His other children. That's not in our job description; it's in Jesus’ and He says that the plumb line of how we are treated, will be how we treat others. Would we want someone thinking judgmental thoughts about us? Do we want Jesus judging us for our judging others?
 

Reflection and Prayer:

Pray and ask God to help you see people through Jesus’ eyes. Pray that you will have compassion on those that are around you and that you will find yourself in a position of intercession instead of the position of judgement.
